Cookie Policy
The small set of cookies and local-storage keys we rely on.
Version 2026-07-17Effective July 23, 2026Template — not legal advice
YapperWoo runs on a small set of cookies and browser-storage keys. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. This page lists everything we set.
1. Session and identity
- Anonymous session token — a signed JWT stored in
localStorage. Required to associate you with the anonymous handle for the current session and to keep chats working across page reloads. - Session broadcast channel — a short-lived cross-tab message so the same session works if you open the app in multiple tabs.
2. Preferences
- Chat preferences (languages, interests, mode) stored in
localStorageso you don't have to reset them every time. - Consent cache — the version and timestamp of the age/policy confirmation you accepted, stored in
sessionStorageso we don't ask you again during the same tab session. - Cookie notice dismissal — a flag so this banner doesn't come back after you close it.
3. Safety and abuse prevention
Server-side, we may set short-lived cookies for rate limiting and CSRF protection. These are functional and are not used for advertising or analytics.
4. Analytics
We use aggregate, privacy-preserving analytics to understand product usage. No third-party ad networks or cross-site trackers are loaded.
5. Your controls
You can clear cookies and storage at any time from your browser's settings. Doing so will end your anonymous session and reset your preferences. Blocking essential cookies may prevent YapperWoo from functioning.
