Random,
but not senseless.
Random chat is more fun when the other person is at least a little into what you're into. Interest tags nudge the matcher without turning it into a filter wall.

How the scoring works
Every candidate in the queue is scored by shared interests, language overlap and recency of last conversation. The pair with the highest combined score is matched. It's not a strict filter — think of interests as a strong suggestion, not a wall.
Why relaxing filters matters
Strict filters produce empty rooms. YapperWoo's matcher relaxes interest overlap first, then language, in small steps over a few seconds, so you always match instead of sitting through a dead queue.
What good interest tags look like
Concrete beats vague. "Bouldering" produces better matches than "sports". Add three to seven tags to start and adjust as you go.
