Random chat is the fastest way to shake yourself out of an algorithmic bubble. You don't get a curated feed of people who agree with you; you get whoever is online right now. That's why the format keeps returning even as social apps get more personalized.

Under the hood the matcher scores every candidate in the queue by overlapping languages, interests and recency of last conversation, then picks the highest-scoring pair. If you've talked to someone recently you won't be re-paired right away.

If your filters are too specific to find a partner within a few seconds, the matcher relaxes them one at a time so you don't sit staring at a spinner.

Every conversation has a Skip button and a Report button. Skip ends the room and re-queues you instantly. Report opens a short form; serious reports escalate to moderation review.
